Come From Away is the true story of 38 planes stranding 7000 passengers in remote Canada, on September 11, 2001. One character dares to "Stop the World, Take a Photo" amid the chaos. In honor of World Photography Day, we invite you to do the same for the chance to see the masterpiece musical in NYC!
Stranded travelers Nick, from London, and Diane, from Texas, were "Come From Aways", as the residents of Gander referred to their guests. They would never have met had they not been stranded in together. In one scene, as the two have begun to fall in love but recognize that the moment that is passing might be one of their last together, Nick stops to take a photo of Diane. That's the amazing power of photography: it gives us the power literally to stop time, to savor a moment forever and ever. Lomography and Come From Away are teaming up for a competition to invite Lomographers to share their "Stop the World" photographs and stories for the chance to experience Come From Away on Broadway for yourself. One grand prize winners will win 2 tickets to see Come From Away in New York City, an All-Access Pass to be able to photograph behind the scenes with the cast and crew, and a new Lomography camera to take along for the ride.
