I was hoping for a proper square format camera... With 400€ you can have something better than this.

great idea but for the lens LSI could have make better than 4,5f and sold it shipper with 400 euros you can have a great second hand 6x6 (bronica, mamiya, et..).
    LSI lower your prices!

Hahaha… come one for 400€ you will get a Mamiya, Bronica, or Rolleiflex with a awesome 2.8 Lense. But wait, I forgot It´s Lomography - don´t think just buy….ahhhhh…. shoot. Sorry but the price is absolutely ridiculous

definitely..100% agree with most of the sentiment here about the price being too high....:(....

@freelancer It's hard to compare pricewise since these are all second hand and already years old and feature wise since they are SLR or TLR systems (mostly non-automatic). We're excited to have this fully automatic and super compact medium format camera out now for you.

Oooh... You can add my name to the want list! This looks look very good! Granted, not the cheapest camera, but in all honesty: if this was an old russian camera it would be so wanted price would be high as well. And these thing will be brand new!

I feel like the Holga would somewhat undermine this since it does the exact same thing. And if you want a compact medium format camera then you would be getting something like a Bessa, or even the Belair for that matter.

  28. austex
    austex ·

Holga only has two apertures, one shutter speed, and a plastic lens with much lower resolving power. I'm not saying the LC-A 120 is a technological marvel, but it has a much broader shooting envelope than a Holga. It can also automatically adjust shutter speed (and aperture?) to ensure proper exposure. Some of the sample photos are tack sharp, even at infinity. That's impressive. Let's hope the production lenses look as good.

i like it a lot and hope the camera is truly compact. would love to see a picture of the LC-A nexdt to his 120 brother for comparison. @pan_dre - you can fix that at HQ right? also, does the camera has a fixed F/4.5 or does he adjust the aperture automatically like the LC-A does, to ensure the vignetting?

  30. elvismartinezsmith
    elvismartinezsmith ·

Well done! Been dreaming of that for years. Yes very expensive as usual but if it is a real LCA, not a toy like the Belair, I'll be happy to save money to be able to get this. People who bought the Belair, please don't complain about the price here hahaha, people who bought a regular LCA, same. LCA is unique, can't wait to shoot with the 120 version (but hey LSI, if it's not a real LCA I will definitely stop trusting you)!

  31. digitaljunk
    digitaljunk ·

@mrmaat the tech spec says: "Aperture range: f/4.5- f/16 (programmatic)" so not a fixed aperture

  32. darko_
    darko_ ·

For those who are complaining for high price and saying that many cameras are cheaper: please let us know which medium format camera with this wide angle lens is available for this price or less? Lats time I checked Holga and Bronica and other similar used cameras had ~80mm lens, not wide angle lens.

nice!!! it is a wonder it didn't come in sooner... I know what I want for x-mas this year :)

would like to point out that the only 120 camera with same lens specification is the very perfect Hasselblad SWC (well of course no vignetting....) !

be frank, I like LCA120's compact and vignetting on such AOV better then SWC
