CMJ Music Marathon with PROM and The Bright Light Social Hour

Homegrown band PROM and Austin-based band The Bright Light Social Hour made it to New York’s CMJ Music Marathon, which took place late last October. They are Lomography’s new LomoAmigos who have documented their experience at CMJ with the Pop 9 and the Colorsplash Cameras, respectively. Together with The Orchard, a music distribution firm, let’s take a look at how things went at the music marathon!

CMJ Music Marathon is a major music event, playing shows week-long. Every year the line-up of participating bands change, and it just gets better each time. This time around, the two bands working with us were asked to follow Lomography’s motto: “Don’t Think Just Shoot.” We will experience the CMJ Music Marathon through their eyes.

Brooklyn-based duo PROM took the Pop 9 camera with them, and the end results were nothing but terrific. PROM plays a mix of piano folk with a little electro-pop, and together with their small batch of favorite whiskey, things are bound to get electrifying!

The Bright Light Social Hour is a psychedelic rock band from Austin, Texas. The band currently consists of four members, and have released three albums between 2005 and the present. They flew in to New York to play at the CMJ and documented their entire experience with the Colorsplash camera. This camera is a ball of fun, with its unique color-wheel flash that colored up their entire trip to New York!

The Orchard is a music distribution firm that has almost 20 years of experience in what they do. The Orchard and the two bands attended the music marathon and they went around taking snapshots with a La Sardina camera. Check out their photos!
