Today’s featured photograph is an ode to an old technique of colorizing photographs.
Before the advent of color negatives, photographers added color to their black and white photographs by painting directly on them. This photo taken by jonkersey is a fine example of what this meticulous process can do to enliven a monochromatic image.
He took this photograph in 1993 using a Holga 120N loaded with a Kodak Tri-X film. You can see more of jonkersey’s hand-painted images on his LomoHome.
