Please tell us something about yourself and what you do.

I’m a computing physicist, currently working in the tourism sphere. Photographing is my daily routine. The choice to study physics, as I thought before, would be interesting but my true passion is art and ideas. My age is 28. I started photographing at age of 17. At 21, I started to photograph on film.

How did you find the Community and who/what convinced you to join?

When I started shooting on film, I discovered the LOMO camera. After that, I found the Lomography community itself. I found similar photography style as what I had during my first photography steps. I had no idea how to manually control the camera then, so I just shoot.

Now, after several years, I like to share my analog works with the community.

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

The “11th” Golden Rule of Lomography: Be original.

In this digital age, why still film?

I like analog cameras. Shooting on film never bores me because of the diverse film, camera, and lens combinations that you can try. I don’t use Photoshop.

What is your favorite analog camera as of the moment? Why?

Canon A-1: God is in the details.

What is the Lomographic camera you’d want to have someday?

Horizon.

Any song, book, or movie you live by?

I read encyclopedias, so nothing special about this, but I take more attention to Ancient Egypt. As for the movie, it’s Phone Booth.

Share your current favorite Lomograph, could be yours or a friend’s.

Any Community member you look up to? If so, why him or her?

I look for classical style of photography. I don’t have a favorite yet.

What are you looking forward to in our Community?

To discover veteran photographers who documented the Cold War era with Soviet cameras.
