Lomopedia: Holgaroid

2

The Holga is loved by millions of users all around the world for its distinct toy camera look and playful photographs it produces. It is somewhat unpredictable especially with the light leaks and its single element lens but that’s just part of its signature style. Then there’s instant film and the idea of seeing prints develop right before your eyes. Pair them up and you’ve got yourself another lovely film camera worthy of a spot in a camera collection display.

The Holgaroid is basically a Holga 120 camera with a dedicated film back for instant film. It can still shoot 120 film when the back is removed. It has a built-in flash for low-light conditions and color gels for extra shooting options.

This eclectic mix of features makes the Holgaroid quite a fun camera to use. Anyone who’s looking for a unique shooting experience ought to try the Holgaroid. Photos still have the strong vignetting on the corners and a pop of colors here and there. Light leaks can still be found, after all, what’s a Holga without a bit of color and light streaks? Overall, the Holgaroid would serve any analogue enthusiast well – whether it’s on medium format or instant film.

in 2008 @ngoki who poisoned me with lomography (haha =p) shared John Stanmayer's video when he used Holga 120 at Ngaben (burn the dead people ceremony) event in Bali. One thing that I couldn't forget (eventhough I'm doubt now after saw Leica's result) he said "Holga is more sharp than digital camera" unfortunately I couldn't found the video on youtube and @ngoki macbook was broke
