I went to Peru a few months ago with my family. It was the first time the four of us traveled together and we decided to explore this amazing country for 10 days. Anyway, the truth is, when my parents decided that we would go to Perú, I wasn’t that excited about it. I didn’t have many expectations, which is weird because everyone I know that had been to Peru completely fell in love with it. And eventually so did I.

At first we visited Cusco for a few days. Then we left for Machu Picchu (of course) but we stayed for a few nights in Ollantaytambo, which is a tiny town (Fun fact: The oldest town in South America where the Incas used to live and now inhabited by their descendants.) that one would passed by from Cusco to Machu Picchu. I guess the lack of technology, constant advertising, and cars made me feel like we were traveling in time. Everyone there was so present in the moment instead of being constantly on their phones constantly or rushing to get somewhere which feels like such a unique experience nowadays. I think this is why it was my favorite destination of the trip. I think it’s safe to say that Peru was one of the most memorable places I’ve been to so far and I hope to come back someday.
