Please tell us something about yourself and what you do.

I recently graduated from college so these past couple months I’ve spent a lot of time traveling, working, and taking photos in San Diego, New York, Chicago, and New Orleans. Now, I’m back to the real world. I’m planning to apply to graduate school and start my career.

How did you find the Community and who/what convinced you to join?

I stumbled upon the community while looking up pictures taken with the Canon Rebel 2000. I thought it was really cool how you guys had the feature to sort photos by the different types of films, lenses, and cameras; that really attracted me. And then once I saw how big the community was, I knew I had to join.

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

I’m a fan of Rule #10 (Forget about the rules). I don’t like rules. I’m a firm believer that the only rules that apply to you are the ones you set for yourself. Everything else is a suggestion.

In this digital age, why still film?

Like a lot of the people who choose to shoot film, I think the attraction is in its tangibility. The way film emulsion actually captures light is so much more organic and just makes for a better image.

Your favorite analog camera as of the moment? Why?

My favorite analog camera at the moment has to be the Canon Rebel 2000. I’ve taken this thing on too many adventures and it’s just a really dependable camera since so many second-hand cameras had just fallen apart on me. A close runner up is my point-and-shoot Canon SureShot Z85.

What is the Lomographic camera you’d want to have someday?

The Lomo’Instant Automat looks like a blast!!! Can you guys hook me up? [Laughs]

Any song, book, or movie you live by?

“Addiction” by Kanye West

Share your current favorite Lomograph, could be yours or a friend’s. Why?

I’m my own biggest fan. I like this shot so much because it’s a perfect reflection of the mental image I had when I was taking it. I’m pretty critical of my own work but if I had the chance to take this over I’d do it the exact same way.

Any Community member you look up to? If so, why him or her?

Rachel Gist is a monster! Her creativity, composition, and the way she utilizes the crazy Lomography films is admirable. I’m taking notes.
