A Trip to Louis Mendes' New York

New Yorker Louis Mendes roams around NYC in every path and corner with his signature 1940 Speed Graphic camera to photograph people and the happenings in the city. Mendes would dress up in lieu with the style of his vintage camera, becoming an iconic character exclusive to New York.

Mendes began photography during his childhood, and would take photographs of family events. He would then study at the RCA Institute of Technology. He has also photographed celebrities and famous figures such as Spike Lee, Denzel Washington, Cab Calloway, Tito Puente and Gordon Parks.
