In a wonderful spring season, I made a four-day trip in Ireland. I reached my hotel in the historical center of Dublin by midday. I wanted to compare the two capital cities of Ireland: Dublin and Belfast. Both cities are full of history, art, and architecture, but I was also interested to see the difference between the way of life in these two cities. Here are some of the photographs I took in Dublin which features the famous Temple Bar, Ha'penny Bridge (a pedestrian bridge built in May 1816 to link the historical center to the modern city), Trinity College and a sculpture representing Molly Malone, the protagonist of a popular song, ("unofficial" anthem of Dublin City, that tells the story of a fishmonger who plied her trade on the streets of Dublin. This is a friendly city, not too big, and very pleasant to visit.

On my third day in Ireland, I took a train early in the morning to reach the capital city of the Northern Ireland. Despite centuries of rivalry between the British and Irish citizens, Belfast is today a fully pacified city, where the armed struggles have given way to important cultural events. There was no passport control at the border and difference here is that the currency used is the British Pound instead of Euro. Despite this, it is fully united and people can travel freely between the two cities. If you are planning to visit Belfast, don't miss its narrow streets behind the cathedral, full of pubs, historical whiskey distilleries and colorful murals.
