Marrakech is the most attractive point in Morocco for tourists. I went there to live for a while though, so it is another topic. Even though the weather was never under 45 degree and the sand storm that you feel on your faces sometimes; colors, voices, and views are so different in Marrakesh. With Elias Canetti’s own words in the book of Voices of Marrakesh "Is it the language that i don’t understand there, and that must now gradually find its translation in me? There were incidents, images, sounds the meaning of which is only now emerging; that words neither recorded nor edited; that are beyond words, deeper and more equivocal than words."
My life in Marrakesh during 6 weeks elapsed with the orange juices that we drunk in Jemaa el-Fnaa, the routine of drinking mint tea for watching sunset and marveling at a new thing every single day. There are a lot of attractions for exploring, being surprised with their amazing architecture, delicious spices and foods in Morocco for tourists but to ‘live’ Morocco was absolutely a different experience.
