Lomo'Instant Automat and Charlotte in White: In Love with the Little Instant Surprise

Previously, visual artist Charlotte in White shared her photos taken with the Lomo'Instant Wide .This time she brought along the Lomo'Instant Automat to chat with singer-songwriter Jin Wong in a cozy coffee shop.

I really enjoy the music of Jin Wong and watched his performance in the first year of University. Luckily I got to know him in person earlier this year. On the day of our meeting, it was more like a chit-chat than an interview. We talked for like two hours and the most unforgettable part of the chat was the sharing of his own life experience, especially the story regarding 'the world is shaped by only black and white without grey'.

Shooting with Lomo'Instant Automat

First of all, it is very handy because of its small size and the shutter speed, as well as aperture, would adjust automatically. More importantly, I love its multiple exposure function! I always had fun and tasted the little surprise brought by the multiple exposure effect. For instance, there was a shot exposed for 4-5 times and it surprised me a lot. Even though the instant films sometimes came out with slight faults, the imperfections somehow expressed another kind of beauty.

Charlotte's Current Favorite Quote and Music

My recent favourite quote is "The past is just a story we tell ourselves". And if you would like to have a sound track for these photos, I would say Lag Fyrir Ömmu by Ólarfur Arnalds. I think this sounds like strings of soft lights shining in winter.
