5 Photography Trends for 2017 for Lomographers
5 26 Share TweetAnother year, another grind. We already know film photography's about to become mainstream again this year, so here's our predictions for film photography trends that will be big in the community (and the world)!
It seems like we're all going all natural and verde for 2017.
E-6 Processing
With the huge announcement of the Ektachrome comeback from Kodak a few days ago, we're putting our bets that E-6 or cross-processing will be big this year. It's the perfect time to create one of the popular Lomographic aesthetics.
Color of the Year: Greenery
Of course, Pantone's Color of the Year Greenery will be a staple color. This green shade seems like a natural byproduct of cross-processing, too.
Instant photography
In a selfie-ridden world, photographers and non-photographers alike are looking for an instant way to take pictures and have them physically without going to the darkroom. Thanks to the new and revolutionary Lomo'Instant Automat and other instant cameras that launched this year, instant photography makes its huge comeback since the 90's.
Nature & Foliage
Another trend we're looking forward to are of foliage. In a concrete jungle, there will be more focus on nature and its little, understated beauty. With the E-6 processing and Greenery, these three become our holy trinity.
Stolen & Candid
Spontaneity and freedom reigns in contemporary analogue, and there will be more of stolen shots, voyeuristic photography this year. Nothing speaks louder as natural than candid photography.
