How did photographer and cinema pioneer Eadweard Muybridge became one of the most important inventors of cinema?
It all began in 1872, when Leland Stanford, who would be the founder of Stanford University, made a bet with his colleagues. The bet was whether all four of a horse's hooves were off the ground at the same time during a gallop. They contacted the English photographer Muybridge to set the record straight. He set up some tripwires and rows of cameras, with a horse running along.
The bet no longer matters -- it's Muybridge's discovery that took a shine. Learn more of the fascinating trivia of the beginnings of motion picture through this creative video.
