Harimao Lee Captures the Hong Kong Cityscape with the Neptune Convertible Art Lens System

Harimao Lee is not only a photographer, he is also an urban explorer. He likes to shoot from the top of buildings to discover the beauty of life from a different angle. This time he brought along the Neptune Convertible Art Lens System and walked through hectic scenes of Hong Kong.

About Harimao Lee

I am Harimao Lee, you can also call me Simon. I mainly use Instagram to share my photography works. I started photography around 5 to 6 years ago, for recording my daily life. I am very glad that through sharing photos on Instagram, I met a lot of different people and I also learned a lot from them. I would say I am an Urban Explorer, except aerial photography, I also try to discover more aspects of lives from different angles.

First Impression of the Neptune Convertible Art Lens System

I like the sleek and compact design of the lens system. It has great optical quality and with only one base element, the weight of the lenses has reduced drastically. I usually bring lenses of different focal length when I go for shootings. The Neptune Convertible Art Lens System allows me to travel light and not feel tired after a whole day of shooting!

Favorite Focal Length

I usually shoot with 35mm lenses, that's why I like the 35mm the most. The lens is small and light, so it is perfect for street photography.

Thoughts on the Neptune Convertible Art Lens System

Thanks to Lomography's invitation, I brought the lenses to travel around Hong Kong with some foreign Instagrammers. We went to different places to capture the lovely scenes of Temple Street, Victoria Harbour and special architectures. Although the lenses do not have super large apertures, it still works well at night. After all, we need to use a small aperture to ensure the sharpness needed for landscapes shooting. Sometimes I will also use a tripod or lean against the fences to reduce the shakiness.

Harimao's Favourite Photo from the Series

My favorite one is the sunset in the Victoria Harbour. I love sunsets because there is never the exact same look and it always surprises me. A good photo is composed of good gear, weather, and timing. I am so glad that I encountered this scene. I love the texture of the lights and clouds and I am happy that the lens helped to bring out these details.
