Horizon Kompakt: a Day with Matt Cuddihy

Matt Cuddihy is a pro surfer from Noosa Heads, Australia, and his Instagram account is an ode to travel and enjoying life to its fullest. The talented photographer took the Horizon Kompakt on his daily adventure by the coast, using it in a totally spontaneous way.

How can you describe your first time with the Horizon Kompakt?

This was my first roll through the Kompakt and I didn't really know what to expect. I wanted to try to use it in a different way than intended.

Were the results as you’d imagine?

A few images I had no idea if they would work out or not. I wasn't sure how it would capture motion but they all worked out and I got the results I was looking for.

Did you use the camera in a specific way?

I tried to pretend that it was just a wide angle lens and tried not to over think it too much.

What else would you suggest using the Horizon Kompakt for?

It would be great to try and figure out how to use it and keep it level while riding a motorcycle. I think that would be an awesome shot with a slow shutter speed to capture the movement of the world flying by.
