Please introduce yourself to the Lomography community and the readers of the Online Magazine.

I am Chrystal and I am into landscape & travel photography, with occasional portraits as well. I generally document places of which I love being in which is in Nature. Being a Landscape Architecture student, I love being in nature it makes me appreciate the beauty of the natural environment, being away from the crowded, complex and rapidly changing city. Whenever I travel I love to make trips to coastal landscapes, forests/gardens or national parks to sitting by the lakes or catching the sunrise and re-visiting places in different seasons if I do get a chance to when I travel.

How did you get started with photography?

I picked up my first camera when I started to travel more and had the desire to document places and also to take pictures of my friends and family that always travels with me. And as time goes by, I found myself spending more time taking pictures, started to dabble into portraits and now back to landscape & travel photography.

How would you describe your style as a photographer?

I love soft and cinematic landscapes. Making use of natural light, with my favorite being soft and warm sunlight in my photos.

Can you tell us a little more about your Petzval 58 Art Lens experience?

I absolutely love the soft focus and dreamy effect it gives to the images. It gives the images a very mellow and smooth finish which makes it very pleasing to look at. Along with the light conditions on that morning, the combination of the Petzval lens and the overcast weather was perfect. I found it rather challenging to work with the manual focus at first but soon after I found myself really liking the soft-focus effect it gave the images.

Do you have ongoing or upcoming projects that you would like to tell the community about?

I am still currently working on updating my webpage with more sets of photos from more recent travels such as Hokkaido & New Zealand from last December and hopefully slowly more of Victoria, Australia which is where I am currently.
