Pictures That Shaped Lomography 1994

2

Oooh, 1994, what a great year for Lomography! Two years after the Lomographic Society International was born, more exciting things started to happen for the young community. There were the Lomographic exhibitions simultaneously held in New York City and Moscow: gigantic LomoWalls were installed in each city, featuring the most vibrant Lomographs from the other. It was also the year when the first Lomography Embassy Store was established in Berlin.

It was also in 1994 when the World Wide Web was born -- and of course, LSI invaded the WWW by launching lomo.com. Somewhere in the world, while all these amazing things were happening in Lomography, Lisa Marie Presley was getting married to Michael Jackson. Brazil won the US World Cup, and Nirvana's enigmatic frontman Kurt Cobain, bid farewell to the world. Pulp Fiction and Shawshank Redemption hit the theaters, while the Beastie Boys came up with one of the coolest music videos ever for their single, Sabotage.

And online, the first few Lomographers were just starting to settle in their new virtual home, championing the analogue movement. Lomo On!
