Morning Hike: Malaysian Photographer Rayyiu Radzi and the New Russar+ Art Lens

Hailing from Malaysia, Rayyiu Radzi got hold of the New Russar+ Art Lens and flies to Indonesia where he hikes Mount Semeru and rests by Ranu Kumbolo on a fine foggy morning.

How did you get started with photography?

When I was in high school, my mom surprised me with my first camera and from there, I just couldn’t let go of it and kept on capturing pictures of everything beautiful that I see. No matter where I go, I need to have my camera with me to make sure I get to capture every great moment there is.

How would you describe your style as a photographer?

I love taking natural and candid pictures. I really think that unplanned pictures of people, their culture and nature are beautiful.

What/Who do you consider as the greatest influence in your craft?

I love Robert Capa’s work. Close up shots will allow us to better see the expressions on people’s face, the tiny details.

How do you develop your skills?

Always experimenting with shadow, natural light and just use whatever-things-around-you. The simplest the better.

Can you share with us how it was like shooting with the Russar+ Art Lens while hiking?

Very easy to use and its super light to bring.

Tell us a little more about your Russar+ Art Lens experience. Any interesting challenges or interesting stories?

Just pure mechanical wide angle and simple lens. I love the design + glasses. Sharp!

Do you have ongoing or upcoming projects that you would like to tell the community about?

To be honest, I don’t have any planning. I don’t see things so far but rather live the moment and go with the flow. That way, I can live a life focus all my attention on my photography.

Rayyiu used the Fuji XT10 with the X adapter with the Russar+ Art Lens which he comments is the best combo.
