When we arrived in Nijmegen (the oldest city in the Netherlands) I was immediately amazed by the enormous parking lot near the central train station that contains hundreds of bikes. I've never seen so many in my life! After having a snack and a stroll in Kronenburgerpark we went to Velorama, the National Bicycle Museum, that shows over 200 exhibits starting with the earliest 1800s "hobby horses".

The city center is a feast for the eyes of the architecture and design lovers. The streets are lovely to wander and you can't get enough of it especially on good weather. There aren't a lot of historical buildings because of the heavy bombing the city suffered during World War II, but the ones that are still standing including some Roman remains are worth visiting.

Another museum we visited and I would highly recommend to everyone is muZIEum, "a venue recreating the experience of the blind or visually impaired, including a one hour tour in the dark." Obviously, I don't have photos of it, but I can tell you the experience is life-changing.
