Places to Go for Traveling Lomographers: Square Louise Michel

2

If you've watched Amélie, you'll definitely be excited roleplaying as the flaneur of your own French film in Square Louise Michel, Montmartre.

Images by Sandra Fastré

The Square Louise Michel is where Amelie, finally reaches out to her love interest via phone booth call near the popular merry-go-round, with the Sacré-Cœur Basilica on the background. From there, get swept away by the area overwhelmed by a series of lawns, terraces, flowerbeds, and variant shrubs, and trees. LomoAmigo Sandra Fastré shared that the park is perfect for painterly landscapes and scenery..

Louise Michel Park in Paris is an atypical, bucolic place. You can see Paris and the place is very inspiring. It reminds me of the period of impressionist painters. This park is near Montmartre in the 18th arrondissement where the creative possibilities are numerous!

The Sacré-Cœur Basilica is one of its famous buildings found in the area. You'll find 222 steps leading all the way up the basilica, but if you're not up for the workout you can always take the sloping paths along the gardens, perfect for slow LomoWalks. There's also a fountain made by Paul Gasq, devoted to ocean gods.

Now, are you ready to be Amélie and explore the Parisian garden?
