Hello Asami, please introduce yourself to the Lomography Community.

Hi, everyone. I'm Asami and currently I work on different projects such as models for pop up shops, normal modelling jobs, baby sitting... basically anywhere if I'm asked to go!

You used to be a model in one of the Japanese teenage magazines and now you also actively shoot pictures as an artist and photographer. You seem to be using a lot of film. What's the reason why you became so into film photography?

I found my dad's film camera three years ago and every since I've been really into photography. I have so many photogenic and cute, kawaii friends so whenever I go out with them, I always take my camera with me. Film cameras have become part of my lifestyle.

What do you think of the Lomo’Instant?

It was so much fun! I totally loved it. It's easy, light, cute and instant! Plus there are so many ways to make the photos creative like multi-exposures, using the color flash, etcetera.

What's your favorite feature of the Lomo’Instant?

Multi-exposure was the best feature that I enjoyed the most. That feeling of not knowing what the outcome is...such a "film" feeling and moment. Of course there are shots that I have planned carefully but shots made by accident are also a lot of fun and interesting.

Any tips on using the Lomo'Instant?

None! Just go with the flow and just take whatever you want to however you want to!

What kind of subjects did you photograph with the Lomo'Instant

I liked taking people - portraits. Especially headshots. Instax Mini Films are so tiny so just having a collection of them is cute. I like to browse through the pictures that I took of my friends.

Who or what inspires you?

I get inspired most by my friends. Some can be passionate about music, some can be movie lovers. We'll openly talk about anything - whatever we feel or think, I can be myself in front of them. I think I like it the most when I shoot pictures of my friends. They always guide my way when I feel lost.

Any future plans or upcoming projects?

I want to go to different places and take more pictures. I'm thinking of doing my own little exhibition next spring. I've recently learnt the happiness of making something and having someone else happy about it as well. So I think I want to make something for other people.
