Coolsigg on the LC-Wide x Lomography Tungsten 64

Coolsigg calls himself a young uncle and is one of our most active community members at Lomography, let alone Singapore! There's no paradox as his photos are "young", being that they're vibrant and fresh, many adhering to the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography. He's kindly taken the time to review his loved LC-Wide and the cherished Lomography Tungsten 64 Film!

I had been using Lomography cameras for a few years and I would say that each Lomo camera has its own unique characteristics. But if I have to chose my favorite Lomography camera, it would have to be the LC-Wide! Why LC-Wide, you might ask. To me, it is one of the most versatile Lomography camera in my Lomography collection. First off, it has an awesome 17mm lens that seems to be able to capture everything and more. It is perfectly suited for shooting from the hip or taking self portrait as you are unlikely to miss out anything. One thing for those that like to use the viewfinder is that it probably shows only 60-70% of what the lens can capture. Fret not, one tip to counter this “problem” is to mount the special viewfinder from the LC-Wide Instant Kit onto the hotshoe and you will see more!

The other feature I like about LC-Wide is the multiple formats, full frame, square frame, and half frame. Even without putting in any of the masks, you can still play around and get creative shots. For example, while on full frame mode, you can set the lens cover to half frame setting to get some extreme vignetting. Similarly, you can also get endless pano shot by selecting half frame mode without putting in the half frame mask. The possibilities are endless.

This brings me to the favorite film I like to use in LC-Wide, the Lomography Tungsten. I like the intense purple colors after cross processing that makes everything seems so surreal. Especially if I am shooting landscape shots with the LC-Wide, it increases the drama factor by 10 times! Also, it is easy to get strong vignetting effect on LC-Wide by setting the ASA to 200 or 400, depending on your mood for that day! Sadly, it is no longer available on Lomography stores and I will definitely treasure the remaining rolls that I have! Hope Lomography brings it back! Lomo on!
