   why didn't you scan them with sprockets?

   @sugar_ray Thanks! I don't have a holder for scanning the sprockets, and I find that way to scan them much easier. I can simply put the film strip on the glass of the scanner, but other problems arise from that - keeping it flat and parallel.

   @adash I also don't have an appropriate holder, but after trying to make a diy holder I have faced another problem, stripes between sprockets.
   www.lomography.com/homes/sugar_ray/albums/1920836-lubitel-1… - this is not the worst result, usually they are much brighter, but sometimes I manage to get images with no stripes, and I don't know what it depends on. Maybe you know the reason for this?

   @sugar_ray No idea, it might be a light leak in camera, or bad development. Why don't you try to scan the same frame with an ordinary 35mm negative holder? I suppose they are on the film and not because of the scanner. BTW, looking at the negative against the lamp may reveal more about those stripes.

   They are definitely not on the film, because I've tried lots of times. When turning the film 90 degrees the stripes change their direction on it - www.lomography.com/photos/17705598 , and scanning with the 35m frame gives no stripes at all

   @sugar_ray Then it is probably light-piping....I mean light captured inside the film base and reflecting inside numerous times. I have never had such a problem, and probably it's because of the scanner's construction. See if opening the lid by a tiny bit helps. It should still be perfectly steady though.
