How to Fix your Diana Mini for GOOD. No More Film Advance Problems! // Cómo arreglar tu diana Mini. No más problemas de avance!
6 8Recently I had film advance problems regarding my Diana Mini. The advance wheel was very hard and it used to break the film. So I checked the Tutorial by gnarlyleech and I started to dismantle my Diana Mini to try to fix it, and I found another solution for this problem.
I don’t want to dismantle again my camera, only for taking pictures of the proccess in order to make a Tutorial; therefore I need you to read that Tutorial first. We will refer to the pictures of the gnarlyleech’s Tutorial (the capital letters in brackets refers to those images).
I didn’t find any problem with the slot (A) and the lever (B). But the advance wheel was very hard to move, so I tried to understand what parts and mechanisms were involved with the wheel movement. I discovered how the Big Fat Spring (B) was related with the wheel function.
By accident, while I was trying to understand the mechanisms, I found the spring a little bit loosened in one side. I was scared about this, but after the first impression I thought that maybe it would be good for the wheel problem. I checked it and I was right, the problem was solved and the wheel advance was soft. I charged the camera with film and it comes to work!
So, you only have to loosen a little bit the spring to resolve the problem. Maybe it’s a risky tip, but perhaps it’s less risky than cutting plastic pieces with a cutter, isn’t it?
Pues bien, trasteando y trasteando… ¡Oh! ¡Horror!
