    Does your camera have front tilt? If yes, you could have brought all of the photo in focus by tilting the lens downwards.

    Yes this camera can tilt both the front and back + shift the lens side to side and up or down.
    The lens I use is a vintage Zeiss lens which I would guess is from the 20s.
    This is made for a slighly smaller negative and old lenses like this are often not made to have much movment.
    So it just about covers the 4x5" negative and moving the front would not work very well.

    But it's usually better to tilt the back to atcheve this and this will not affect the lens coverage as much.
    And I have tilted the back on this shot but the other way to get more bokeh in the background.
    Would have gotten focus everywar with a strait back and same f stop.
    You can also se the edge of the lens coverage in this shot at the bottom edges becouse of the tilting :)
    I missed this when I framed for the shot and this could have been fixed by moving the lens verticly.
