You so make me want to try IR!!! I assume you use an opaque filter (720nm or higher), how do you decide exposure settings if your camera doesn't have a TTL light meter?

@sandravo you should! it's addictive. I never use a light meter since the Hassleblad and the blackbird I used for this shot don't have them, just lot's of trial and error. I do use opaque filters though. On a sunny day I typically hold the shutter open for about a second, just use my watch with the blackbird, but I'm planning to try for shorter times and different aperture settings for the next round. Just got a Yashica 44 I want to try infrared with.

What filter exactly do you use for the Rollei IR 400?

@sandravo that's a good question. I use a 720 that I tape onto the Hassey and when I use the Ciroflex TLR. For the Blackbird, and this shot, I use a really small IR lens I picked up on ebay that just fits the small Blackbird lens. It's really old and I have no idea what camera it was made for but when I look through it in bright light it looks just like the 720 so I would imagine they're the same. What are you planning to shoot with?

@sandravo also I usually shoot on a sunny day and go for a 16 on the aperture setting. On the Blackbird obviously no aperture setting but I think the setup of it is right around 16.

I would start with the Lubitel 166+. Still need to order the film and the appropriate filter. Based on your information it looks like the Rollei IR 400 and a 720nm are a good match, right?
