The first two weeks of September were still blessed with nice and warm weather - ideal for a trip to the sea side. Hohwachter Bay - from Behrendorf to Sehlendorf via Hohwacht and Lütjenburg to Engelau - is an area not (yet) discovered by the crowds; so still tranquility, romantic villages and wide unspoilt beaches. Back in June, Mike McLean (aka “Ogof”) and I discussed working together on a filmswap, however we were keen to try something a little different. We had always loved images created with pinhole cameras, and knowing Mike’s expertise with these devices, we agreed to attempt a series of swaps using one of Mike’s Noon pinhole cameras, and a Lomography LC-A 120. The medium format 120 was chosen as we felt at that stage that this would allow for a better chance of getting frames accurately aligned. In December 2016, I started shooting a roll of LomoChrome Purple XR, loaded in my Olympus OM10 (set at 200iso). When I finished the roll, I then re-loaded it and randomly shot it again, completing it just a few days ago. The lovely people at Colourstream developed and scanned it for me.. It's our year in film.
Our worlds have become smaller over the past few months of global lockdown, so @hodachrome and I decided to do something about it. We worked on some filmswap projects between Japan and the UK, using different cameras and films. Whilst we were confined to our close surroundings, we also had a window out to landscapes and views 6000 miles away!

I obtained three rolls of the Santa Rae 1000 already early 2022 from Finland but used it only now for the first time. The film seems to be not that easy to handle as far as exposure settings are concerned. I set the ASA on 1000 and made some shots with the automatic measurements of the camera (Canon AE 1). But I also did a great number of shots on manual and 800 ASA - they came out much better. All in all I like the results - the rich contrast but, if correctly exposed, also the wide range of grey tones. A film which has a strong character - and I am looking forward to the next two rolls which I still have. Fotos on three different locations: short visit to my old home town (decommissioned coal mine), city walk through Wiesbaden and some shots from Ouddorp/Netherlands during my recent trip. Stand developed for one hour in Rodinal 1+100.
Something went wrong with the development process. I added too much time (3:50 instead of 3:15) and the bath was almost 43 degrees. The frames shared brought forward interesting results though. Revueflex AC2 loaded with Konica VX200.
My second film swap as part of Anca's project @makethisadouble First layer by me with a Minolta X 700 mainly taking shots during a stay in Hamburg. Mika from the USA using a Canon AE 1 added a young, fresh and vibrant creativity to the roll.

I looked back. Everything stood in its place: a rotten turquoise UAZ, a sweeping dry tree that looked like a Whomping Willow from the Harry Potter universe, majestic pines, houses, toilets, fences, dogs and their booths... It seems to be everything.
