Amber Tamblyn shoots with the LC-A+
10 34 Share TweetAmber Tamblyn, known for her starring role in ‘The Sisterhood of Travelling Pants’ takes us on a tour in her brand-new flair into the Lomographic life!

REAL NAME: Amber Rose Tamblyn
CITY: York City
COUNTRY: USA
How long have you been a Lomographer (or are you new to this whole thing?)
AT: I’m new to the whole thing.
How about a haiku about the LC-A+?
This Just In: Lomos
are the queens of cameras.
But complicated!

The strangest, funniest, hands-down greatest or most “unusual” (sorry, couldn’t resist) photographic/Lomographic encounter that you have ever had.
AT: My boyfriend, naked in Paris, begging me to take a picture of him in an Alpaca flap hat whilst drinking tequila in an ice bar. And…scene.
If your photos shown here could have a soundtrack of three songs, what would they be? (song title & artist please)
AT: um…. I don’t see photos. Can I see them? Otherwise I will have to choose a Celine Dion song. Nobody wants that to happen. Why would you do that to your readers?
After seeing the photos
AT: Probably David Cross’s standup album Shut Up, You Fucking Baby! Considering all these photos. Sheesh!

If you could take your LC-A+ and a sack of film anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?
AT: Antarctica.
Tell us about some future projects you have coming up. What will be keeping you busy in the near future?
AT: My second book of poetry and prose is coming out September 1st. It’s called Bang Ditto. I’m very proud of this collection, it’s been 4 years in the making. There’s a couple movies too, including Beyond A Reasonable Doubt with Michael Douglas that comes out in September.
The one person (living or deceased) who you would most like to photograph? And the one person you would most like to portray in a film?
AT: I have photographed Bruce Conner, but not with a Lomo. That was pre-Lomo days. I would have loved to have had a picture of him with this camera. His eyes were never fully captured with a digital camera. I will always regret that. The second question is weird. Can I pick the person from the answer to question #3 once again?

You’ve shown a wide range of roles in your films and television shows, and your interests seem quite diverse. Are you someone who likes a challenge? And if so, what challenges would you like to take on in the future?
AT: Imagine if my answer to this would have been, “Nah, I’m not really into challenges. I don’t know, that’s just not me. I like things that really, sort of, do nothing for my soul, ya know? I’m better at stuff that’s just like, twitterable.”
I’m gonna start writing scripts pretty soon. Watch out, Hollywood, here comes my lady sacks on your chin.
Your advice to future LC-A+ shooters
AT: Don’t beat yourself up for that first roll that comes back blank. It happens. Do a couple experimental rolls first so you can see if you’re shooting thing right- i.e. the right exposure, light, etc.
