It’s all the crazy people that she met in the Lomography community that she was able to explore some unfamiliar places by doing film swaps with them, at least! And being a photo editor herself, she finds the Lomo LC-A a charming little thing, giving her results far from what the usual digital clicker can give! Meet Trashpilotin, our LomoGuru of the week!

Share to us your most memorable experience in the Lomographic Community.

I love being a part of the lomographic community, there are so many memorable experiences, for example when you pick up a double roll and you see your pictures mixed with some landmarks you haven’t been yourself but your pictures have. This is such a nice way to travel the world! The most memorable experience was to win the “energy around you” rumble last year and that my picture was part of the exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro! Beside that my picture was shown in such a significant museum it was important to me that I won with the “energy around me” that is the most outstanding to me: Music.

Have you actually met people in the Community that you now consider as close friends? If yes, name at least one of them.

I really like the crazy people in the community from all over the world and to do doubles with them, for example Dekadev_Pui to http://www.lomography.com/homes/dakadev_pui, Atria007, Grazie or Lazybuddha. I also like the german community a lot but I live so far away, that attending lomomeetings is hard for me, but I do meet das-z link on a regular basis and he inspires me a lot. I also got acquainted with really good friends to lomography like bloemche or stadtpiratin who are now really active here too and I appreciate that a lot.

Do you think you’ll still be taking Lomographs in the next 5 years? Why?

I think so because I so adore Film-Photography and it is a good adjustment for my daily work as an editor, where you always need digital pictures, as fast and sharp as possible. I love it that a good lomographic picture can be totally out of focus and nevertheless really beautiful. I hope that there is a future for the film industry and that we can use those beautiful rolls furthermore.

What is your favorite Lomo camera and why? Do you have any memorable experiences while using this camera?

This is hard, but the LC-A will always be in my heart, I inherited it from my uncle who really influenced me in who I am today, therefore I am not using the old LC-A on a regularly base but the LC-A+. I also like the Horizon Perfekt a lot! I sometimes shoot at festivals or concerts and meet only digital photographers there, sometimes they are so cocky and just focused on their expensive accoutrement that they hardly talk to anybody but if you got something like the Spinner 360 with you they get curious and want to know everything about it…

Is there any advice you can give to new analogue shooters?

Just try anything you like. Try different films, different cameras and different techniques, be curious, get inspired by pictures, art and music you like. There is no wrong in lomography. If you got questions just ask, the lomography community is the nicest around and you sure will get an answer. Just enjoy taking pictures.

I'd like to see the scene, when you go to a concert with your horizon perfeckt... and the reactions of the "digital photographers"... That must be funny!
It's hard for me too to meet others lomographers, because there's few french in the lomographic community, and, like you, I live in the middle of nowhere, lost in the campaign...
    That's a good article!
