Workshop Highlights: 'Mint Prints' Printmaking DIY Workshop with Joseph Chiang of Monster Gallery

It was an afternoon where the DIY spirit reigned strong in the store as head honcho of Monster Gallery, Joseph Chiang, came down to Lomography Gallery Store Singapore to impart the skills of basic printmaking! Using simple materials like foam, Joseph showed our participants that printmaking can be accessible and fun for all! All it takes are just some ideas, creativity, and of course – a true DIY spirit.

Joseph Chiang of Monster Gallery was one of the participating artist of the La Sardina Wardrobe Exhibition Singapore! His hand-printed La Sardina DIY design was well-loved by many so we invited him to conduct a printmaking session at the store to teach the participants how they can use this skill to customize their very own La Sardina DIY camera!

Each armed with a La Sardina DIY template and a foam block, the participants started scribbling and drawing down their ideas on paper enthusiastically. We must say, there were really quite a number of interesting and imaginative designs that would look splendid on a La Sardina DIY camera!

After the participants finished creating their own design on the foam block, it was then time do some printing! At our printing station, it was excitement overload as the participants got to experience the process of printmaking and finally seeing their own designs in print! It was awesome great fun albeit a tiny bit messy!

Here are the participants graduating from the workshop as newly minted printmakers! Look how proud they are of their mint prints! We hope to see these skills put to good use on the La Sardina DIY camera! All thanks goes to Joseph Chiang of Monster Gallery for such a fun and fulfilling afternoon!
