Homemade Splitzer & Cokin Filter Holder for the Sprocket Rocket

With this technique you can make a splitzer and/or Cokin type filter holder for your Lomography Sprocket Rocket.

Our fellow Lomographer Gibri has already given us a cool and inexpensive way to do a splitzer for the Sprocket Rocket in her tipster, but if you have some Cokin filter accessories lying around, you may want to try this.

You will need:

• A 62mm adaptor ring for Cokin type filter holder
• A strip of felt
• Scissors
• Black card/paper
• Glue
• Filter holder
• And, of course, a Lomography Sprocket Rocket

The adaptor ring is slightly wider than the lens barrel on the Rocket so you will have to fill some of the empty space so that the ring fits snugly in the camera. I glued two pieces of felt as you can see in the picture:

And now the ring stays in place :)

If you want to use some Cokin type filters ( like ND filters for long exposures) you just need a filter holder – and some filters ;)

To make a splitzer you must glue a piece of black card or paper to the ring.

To split the image in half all you need is to align the paper with the bolts at the front of the lens which are right in the middle.

After trimming the excess you have a splitzer!

All the materials are fairly inexpensive and you can buy chinese made cokin filter type rings and holders cheap on ebay.
