Lomopedia: Industar 26M 50 mm Lens

Shabby chic is one way to describe this Russian old timer. The Industar 26M 50 mm lens comes from a long lineage of prime lenses manufactured by the Soviet Union in the 50s and 60s — made both by FED and KMZ.

The main fact that this lens is still around after 40-50 years after it was first introduced proves that there’s more to it inside than just its utilitarian look. The Industar 26m can appeal to snappers who would like to try on a vintage lens for a fraction of the price of other more high-end lenses. The Industar 26M 50mm can easily be used with Leica screw mount cameras. It is a fast lens that can produce sharp images and soft vignettes and also boasts a nice-looking glass coating – a little extra for those who admire Soviet-era craftmanship.

    A nice lens, sufficient sharp, with a great plasticity. The weak point is in the backlight (low flare resistance)

    @pan_dre The whole russian 50mm M39 russian series (Industar 10, 22 ,50 collapsible), Industar 50 rigid, Industar 61 and 61L/D, Jupiter 8 silver and black, Jupiter 3 (and 3+). I have all these lens except J3+, some have am own "character"! Then you can pass to some masterpiece russian lens. Mir 1b (1v) 37/2,8 is the Expo Bruxelles Gran Prix winner, one of the best 35mm lens ever, the M42 Zenitar fisheye, the Mir 20 (a great super wide angle), the rare 35/2, the manual aperture 135/3,5 and the classic Helios 2/58. All these lenses are great! I used all these jewel, and I have many photos taken with these lens. Ask for other photos I have!

    I like my industar26m I use it on a Zorki MIR and on my Olympus Pen micro four thirds.
