First Roll: Brunoroids with Lomochrome Purple Film! [NSFW]

When experimenting with new rolls of film, it’s often the first roll that brings both the most joy and the most trial & tribulation. We want to start highlighting some successful first attempts here on our Magazine with all of our experimental films. The first in this line up is Brian Bruno, who works under the pseudonym Brunoroids.

We asked Brian about his experience with his first roll of our LomoChrome Purple Film on his 35mm shoot with working model Audrey Kitching.

Briefly introduce yourself to the Lomography Community:

I’m a analog photographer with a great love of instant film.

How did you get started shooting film? Is it your main choice of medium?

I started to shoot film my senior year of high school and that’s all I took my last year schooling. It’s my only choice really. The only digital camera I have is on my phone.

What was the inspiration for these two shoots?

The location of the sunflower field was over 3 hours away and wanted to show it in a different light with something special and Audrey and I create very well in the moment of the things so both shoots came very natural to us.

How was your experience shooting the LomoChrome Purple film?

I was blown away with the results with a fellow photographer by the name of Carmine Silveroli who gifted me this roll who has a great love for it and wanted to see what I would do with it. After I got the roll back I quickly bought more of the film.

Do you have any advice for beginners getting their first roll of the film?

Experiment but feel like the best colors come out at a lower ISO. Also shoot with where there is more vibrant colors around.

Do you have any other film photography-related projects going on at the moment?

I’m currently wrapping up my first book which I used Polaroid chocolate film photographing nude subjects in a natural surroundings which I hope to have out early next year.
