Prepare for the Big Comeback of Kodak Ektachrome

Film photographers rejoice! The classic Kodak Professional Ektachrome is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2017 according to Kodak Alaris, an independent company. The films will be produced in its film factory in Rochester, New York.

According to the Independent company Kodak Alaris, the resurgence of popularity in analog photography was reason for the comeback. They will also produce a 135-36x format of the Ektachrome.

“The film, known for its extremely fine grain, clean colors, great tones and contrasts, became iconic in no small part due the extensive use of slide film by National Geographic Magazine over several decades.” said Kodak Alaris.

The Ektachrome is a reversal film (a color positive film, also known as "transparency" or "slide"), using E6 development process, an ideal for high-resolution projection or presentations, printing and scanning in the professional scale. The Ektachrome is distinct for its cinematic and distinct look -- fine grain, clean colors, great tones and contrasts. The film will also be available for motion picture.
