Cyanotypes of Claude Monet's Garden by Pipo Nguyen-duy
The cyanotype is one of the oldest processes out there, and perhaps one of the most dangerous as well due to contact with Pottassium ferrycyanide. But the risk seems to pay off once done right.
Vietnamese artist and photographer Pipo Nguyen-duy visited Claude Monet's garden in Giverny, France. The result of the visit is a study of botanical specimens found in the garden, imprinted with the cyanotype process on site. But as much as flora specimen goes, Nguyen-duy's images are more than just scientific studies.
The show Another Expedition: Monet's Garden will show not only the images but as well as the soil, water and other physical elements that was used, collected in Monet's garden. The show will begin on Feb. 2 at the ClampArt Gallery in New York.
