Alessio Albi and his LomoInstant Wide Stories

2

Alessio Albi is a popular Italian photographer, who specializes in portraits, storytelling, and commercials, with a notable talent for engaging with the viewer.

Last year he shot some amazing photos with the New Petzval 85 Art Lens. This time he used the Lomo'Instant Wide, shooting on films the last days of summer.

Hi Alessio, what are you working on at the moment?

Lately, I have been quite busy working on commercials, so I did not have that much time left for my personal projects. I am trying to work on series characterized by a more cinematic style: something a bit different from the pure portraits that I usually do.

What do you like of instant photography?

I have been using instant cameras for a few years now. I am really fascinated by its results and by the unique approach it offers: a slower and more resonated way of shooting, which is typical of analogue photography, but with an immediate result, as with digital cameras.

What did you shoot with the Lomo'Instant Wide?

I realized a short logbook during a holiday with my friends, of which we realized also a digital editorial.

What characteristics of the Lomo’Instant Wide did you like the most??

I really liked its possibility to work much more with manual settings compared to other instant cameras. In particular, I found very helpful the possibility to shoot at 1/30 even in low-light situations, without using the flash.
