Young Scouts from Néa Smírni Relearn Lomography

Lomography Greece, in partnership with Skiadopoulos Photographic equipment, held a Lomo workshop for young scout members in Néa Smírni, Greece. After all, what's a better way to spend the weekend than passing the torch of analogue love and the Lomographic movement to children?

The scouts team already had history with Lomography, having gotten their first Lomo workshop in 2012. But as times-they-are-a-changin', that means newer, younger members. Scout leader Vasiliki got to be a part of the 2012 workshop, and with this in mind, she invited Lomography and Skidaopoulos to give her own team the chance to learn about photography and the Lomographic Movement last weekend. The learners' ages range from 7 to 11 years old.

They first gave a theory lesson about photography and the technical know-how, such as what a shutter does, or what aperture is. Then they were introduced to Lomography, before handing out some Lomo cameras. The popular picks among the kids were the Fisheye, the Lomo'Instant and the Spinner.

"They were so excited and willing to learn and try, and most of them, hadn’t seen a film in their life!" said Denise Skiadapoulos.

The kids also got to meet the Diana F+ camera, and the team taught them how to do double exposure technique and light painting. Of course, the workshop ended with some fun tokens that the kids will go home with -- pins, pens, frame postcards in a small pouch. Here are some photos of the scouts with the Lomo cameras!

Alas, check out the Lomographs they took :
