Daniel Schaefer Takes a Trip Downtown with the Lomo'Instant Square
8 Share TweetIt's just like any other night for New York-based photographer Daniel Schaefer. In the city streets of New York, he and his model, who goes by Dove Mother grab some dumplings for dinner, with a side salad of night photography using the handy Lomo'Instant Square.
Schaefer's been making headlines nowadays for his street photography and portraiture work, as well as his gift for words on photo theory. He also loves to experiment. As such, during a recent night out stroll with Dove Mother, the two buddies decided to play around a bit with the Lomo'Instant Square against the dark blanket and neon lights. Schaefer took note of the Lomo'Instant Square's clarity and crisp lens quality, a rare feat among instant cameras. He said in an interview with Lomography Magazine:
"It's awesome to have a camera that can turn out such a lovely size of an image in a package that can tuck away into the bottom of my bag so readily, and the lens is just absolutely phenomenal... [I] love the treatment of light, and the character of the color the lens and the film combo lends itself to."
Schaefer has also tested the Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art Lens and continues his love affair with the Minitar-1. He is currently holding workshops scheduled for 2018, and you may find more about his work in his website.
