Name: David van den Abeele
LomoHome: @puran
Location: Ravensburg, Germany

Please tell us something about yourself and what you do.

I feel like a millionaire because I got three kids and a wonderful lady! I like anything analogue especially vinyl players and cameras. I shoot photos to preserve moments and emotions. To let art happens and escape the hectic schedule of the day.

How did you find the Community and who/what convinced you to join?

My lovely lady (@analogview) told me something about the German community, which she is also part of. I checked the site and I loved it from the beginning.

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

I apply Rule 10 (Forget about the rules) in my everyday life. With this mindset, I feel absolutely free—there are no boundaries!

In this digital age, why still film?

Pictures shot on film got no limitation and I love the moment when I press the shutter button, so many things happen inside the camera in this short time. With a 1000/sec shoot, the mechanics of the camera interacts with the chemical aspect of shooting, creating a copy of the scene using light.

Your favorite analog camera as of the moment? Why?

It is my Canon AE1 Program with an Canon FD 50mm 1:1.4 Lens. I like this because its so old yet it still works like a wonder.

What is the Lomographic camera you’d want to have someday?

I would like to have the Lomo Lubitel 166+.

Any song, book, or movie you live by?

I love the song "St. James Infirmary Blues" by Teddy Wilson. It relaxes me and gives me inspiration every time.

Share your current favorite Lomograph, could be yours or a friend’s. Why?

I love this picture because it transports so much emotion and truth.

Any Community member you look up to? If so, why him or her?

@analogview. She's the community member I look up to because she got the magic eye for moments and she is doing her work with passion. I would like to reach this level of passion!
