Thursday 12th April Film Photography Day at Lomography Soho!
To celebrate Film Photography Day 2018 Lomography Soho Store are offering some fun prizes for you! Simply visit the store and take a photo of yourself in front of our lomowall. Share on social media with the hashtag #filmphotographydayuk and get a free Lomography goodie to take home! There will also be a live drawing session from artist Laura Nicholson who will adorn the shop window with beautiful doodles.
This event is free, no need to book just come along and share the lomolove.
Saturday 14th at 1pm: Choose Your Own Camera Workshop
Join us at the Lomography Gallery Soho, for a very special workshop, ever wanted to try a Lomography camera but the opportunity hasn’t presented itself, well here it is, take your pick and we will instruct you how to get the best results from the Lomography camera of your choosing.
This workshop is £15 and includes the loan of a Lomo camera of your choice a roll / pack of film, and development+scans of your negatives or the instant pictures you make… plus a chance to win prizes! Places are limited, ring 02074341466 now to book your place!
Saturday 21st at 12 noon: Life Drawing for Photography
Historically, life drawing has been the foundation of fine art education. This is not only due to artists’ enduring fascination with the human body, but also because life drawing teaches crucial skills including perspective, composition, balance, and mark making. A new focus on identity and trans-humanism in the art world has brought fresh relevance to the human form. This workshop at Lomography Gallery Soho, seeks to emphasise a process-based approach to life drawing that can be applied to any contemporary art practice. The first two hours will be dedicated to reviewing basic drawing technique as well as a brief introduction to anatomy. After the break the focus will turn to composition, and exploring methods of abstracting the figure.This workshop will be hosted by artist Laura Nicholson, Laura is a practicing artist primarily concerned with narrative and the human form. She works in a variety of media including animation, linocut, painting, graphic novels and installation.
This workshop £15 each, £10 concessions,£20 with donation, and includes the loan of drawing board paper, pencils, charcoal and erasers. Call us on 02074341466 to get involved!
Saturday 28th at 1pm: LC-A+ Street Style Special
Come to the Lomography Gallery Store and learn all about the automatic wonders of the LC-A+, we will then take to the streets and seek out the most fantastic street style soho has to offer. If you’re not into street style, feel free to free -style and make photos of anything Soho has to offer.
This workshop is £10 and includes the loan of a LC-A+, roll of film, and development+scans of your negatives. Places are limited, ring 02074341466 now to book your place!
