June Workshop and Events at Lomography Gallery and Embassy Stores

Another jam-packed month is coming to the Lomography Gallery and Embassy Stores worldwide! Explore the Big Apple with poetry on your mind, learn how to develop your own black and white film, and upgrade your experimental techniques with the Lomo'Instant Square Glass. See our line up of exciting events and workshops happening this June.

New York

Jump lens first into the bustling streets of New York—one frame at a time. Switch up your perspective and learn something new from other analogue enthusiasts. Inspired by American poet Eileen Myles and her images shot with the Simple Use Film Camera, this LomoWalk will start at the Rare Book Room, located on the 3rd floor of the Strand.

Get your ticket in the form of a Simple Use Film Camera to attend this event. Please note that payment is required at the time of all online orders.

At Lomography, it’s hip to be square and we have all the square-format cameras for you to test out and see what works right for you. Swing by for an all-day workshop for a chance to get a free camera rental and some film rolls!

Lomography staff Izel Villarba presents a visual diary reflecting his recent experience in the Philippines. Tote bags, prints, and shirts, courtesy of Peels, will be sold to raise awareness and funds for Filipino children in poverty. All proceeds will go to Save The Children.

Exhibitions and parties are FREE. Workshops are $10 ($7 for students) unless otherwise noted. Admission includes a free roll of film and a loaner camera if applicable. Photographer Bea Dewhurst documented the growth of UK punk group Girls in Synthesis—from their first shows at the end of 2016 to the present day. This display will feature analogue images taken at the band's live shows alongside conceptual press shots and candid, downtime images.

A limited edition booklet featuring a selection of photos will be available for purchase and all proceeds will go to the mental health charity Mind.

This month, all the workshops will take place at the Artazart Bookstore next to canal Saint-Martin where we also have a Lomo'Instant Square Glass exhibition featuring images by Laura Bonnefous and Camille Vivier.

Learn how to properly expose and develop black and white films. We'll share techniques on shooting without light meter and processing films—from preparing chemicals at the right temperature, different developing times, and proper agitation.

Spend a great afternoon in our lab and learn how to make analogue print. Get familiar with darkroom equipment and prepare unique prints from your own negatives.

Explore the historical district of downtown Budapest and brush up your knowledge of the basics of analogue photography—from shooting on different film formats to composing photographs. Different analogue cameras and film rolls will be provided. After the workshop, we'll also process and scan your rolls, so you can look back on your afternoon adventure!
