“Around the World in Analogue” is your bite-size guide to the most amazing travel destinations across the globe, as documented by the members of the Lomography community. Today, Lomographer Antono Vasiljev recalls how his trip to Bangkok, Thailand renewed his love for analogue photography.
“In 2013 I traveled to Thailand with my wife for our honeymoon. It was Songkran festival in Bangkok and I walked through the streets with a cheap plastic waterproof camera called Snap Sights!. It was my first film camera since childhood. I bought it to make some underwater photos but decided to use one roll of film in Bangkok. These guys invited me to join celebration with them.”
“The camera is focus free and makes photos on a single shutter speed. When I developed the film, I was impressed by the atmosphere captured on the photos. This fact motivated me to visit my parents and find my Lomo 8M—the camera I used at school.”
“It was my return to the world of analogue photography. Now I own some more film cameras and always take one of them to my trips.”
All photographs were taken with a Snap Sights! camera and Kodak Color Plus 400. To see more of Antono's photographs, head to his LomoHome or Instagram.
