Around the World in Analogue: Oporto, Portugal
16 Share Tweet“Around the World in Analogue” is your bite-size guide to the most amazing travel destinations across the globe, as documented by the members of the Lomography community. Today, Lomographer Rita Santos (@rls) splashes Oporto, Portugal in surreal colors with the LomoChrome Purple.
“Shortly after Lomography launched the LomoChrome Purple Film 100, I spent a weekend in Oporto and I took a roll with me hoping to get totally unexpected results when developing it. And I was right: the strong blue sky turned into a beautiful tone of turquoise when developed and the typical houses next to the river got almost psychedelic colors! This is one of the reasons why I shoot analogue: I find it super interesting to see how the different films and cameras affect the perspective you have on the places you visit.”
“Even though Oporto has became a trendy place to visit in the past few years, the city has managed to keep the sense of community. It is a city that makes you feel at home, where locals are helpful and welcoming. And you might be surprised to know that it is a good destination for analogue lovers: in city center you can find stores with a variety of old cameras, film and developing laboratories, so make sure to check them out when planning your trip.”
