Dreamy Psychedelic: Diane Sagnier and the Daguerreotype Achromat Art Lens

Photographer and director Diane Sagnier is no stranger to our Community. She has delighted us with her photographs taken with different Lomography products, and now she's back to share her most recent work with the Daguerreotype Achromat 2/9/64 Art Lens. As always, the photographs are lovely — Diane effectively took advantage of the Achromat's trademark effects to suit her dream-like photography style.

When asked about what she loves about the lens, she says that she loves the unexpected effects. "I think it does need a little bit of practice and handling for manual focus and bokeh understanding, but once you get used to it, it's the most fun to use." Another plus is that the lens becomes a conversational piece, inciting great bonding time with her models.

Tamara Prince

"The shots of Tamara are excerpts from a collab shoot with her as a stylist and model, while my boyfriend, Chaz Navarro, was also taking photos with a point and shoot. There were some beautiful shiny things so I figured we'd get some nice material with the special lens."

Melody's Echo Chamber

"For Melody, I shot these pictures in my childhood bedroom in the south of France. These are her latest official press pics. Throughout our shoot, I whipped out my shiny lens for extra '70s-psychedelic effects, and it served us well! I love how it smoothens the skin, while the flares look like ethereal beams of light!"

Juliette Lamet

"I knew Juliette from friends and I've always wanted to shoot her. We finally made a little home shoot with our own clothes and set design. It was really cute and cool to finally get to collaborate with her and work around her persona!"
