Yoshitaka Goto: Magical New York

Yoshitaka Goto, a Lomography community member known as Gocchin, is a full-time freelance photographer based in Gifu City, Japan. By interacting with locals on trips, Goto first started photography by documenting the world around him while traveling. On a recent trip to New York City, Goto created a captivating group of photos of the city like you've never seen before.

Goto is very interested in creating multiple exposures and wanted to explore that with this series:

"When I find uniquely-shaped architecture, I often make [multiple exposures]. As you know, there are many unique buildings in Manhattan, so I wanted to make crazy multiple exposures there. To tell the truth, this trial was my second time. The first time was in 2013. After 5 years, I tried it again. These multiple exposures are just experimental shooting. Even if I look at buildings through the viewfinder, I can't see the immediate result. So I just make an image in my brain. Especially for quadruple exposures, the subject seems to float in weightlessness, like an unknown object. Sometimes the results fail, but sometimes they turn out so crazy." — Yoshitaka Goto
