Wide-eye Wonderful: LomoAmigo Ennuh Tiu Shoots with the LC-W

If there's one word that we can use to best describe our LomoAmigo Ennuh Tiu, it would be "fun". Awesome is overused but that she is, too! Her eclectic and electric style in taking photographs just aims to excite you with each frame. A livewire with a camera, Ennuh can show you why it pays to always bring your camera with you. In this feature, she shows us a thing or two about capturing moments with the versatile LC-Wide.

Ennuh is the type of person that doesn't want to miss out on life. Cameras are her way to document every interesting little detail she comes across with. A documentarist of sorts, she believes that moments and memories are important and that it would be a shame not to capture them on film.

“When I was in university, I developed an interest in documenting my life. I was envious of my ex-lover who had a point and shoot camera with him every day and would capture all fun stuff we would do at the time. It took me a while to get my own camera so I think that was the reason why I cherish it so much now is because of all the wasted memories I wasn't able to capture in the past. A photograph shot on film is forever.”

And we're happy to know that the LC-W didn't disappoint. Ennuh was able to capture moments that are nothing short of interesting. Trying out different shooting styles, films, and formats, Ennuh sewed together a tapestry of beautiful moments on film. When asked about how the shoot went, this was what she had to say:

Shooting with the LC-Wide was a very interesting experience. To be honest, at first I thought I wouldn't be able to get the hang of it right away -- I kept forgetting to set the right focus distance, etc. but now I'm happy with how everything turned out. I love that you can produce a variety of different unique photos per batch you shoot with, you can get squares, half frame, and my current favorite: endless panorama double exposures!

Accident or not, her endless panorama shots are in sync with her quirky and candid personality. A product of coincidence, these stitched frames show how analogue photography has memorable surprises for all of us who shoot. In a way, this was a refreshing version of memories that only film photographs can tell.

“My accidental endless panoramas! I accidentally removed the mask and was pleasantly surprised! For someone who likes documenting moments and capturing memories, this painted a picture of my last month or so in an artistic and interesting way that I love.”

Fun, exciting, and charming — three traits that Ennuh and the LC-Wide have in common. There's always something inspiring around the corner and with the right perspective, you can capture them all on film the same way Ennuh did. Taking life seriously all the time can grind you down to the nub. Live a little and start a hobby. We've got just the thing for you — analogue photography. Our dear LomoAmigo has some words for anyone who's interested in this compact 35 mm shooter:

“I would recommend this camera to Geminis since you can get a variety of different shots per roll and won't get bored! LOL! Seriously, though, if you want quirky, fun and unique photos, then this camera is for you! It's worth it!”

Thankfully, that's not where it ends. Our LomoAmigo already has plans for her next adventure with the LC-Wide. And you guessed it, they're something to look forward to:

“A fantasy series, something to do with elves lol but it's still a bit vague at this point. A series about Poblacion at night/a portrait shoot, Pride March 2019 coverage, and I'll be serving as a photo correspondent for a local event called Vinyl Day.”

We would like to thank Ennuh for working with us in this feature. If you're interested in her work, you may visit her Instagram for more.
