Could you give us a brief introduction about yourself and your approach when it comes to photography?

We are Eloïse & Luc, a photographer and videographer duo from France. We created our creative studio L’œil d’Eos three years ago. We share or artistic works but also our travel stories, equipment tests, hotels, and restaurant reviews on our blog.

For us, photography is being able to catch the moment. It's primordial for us as it allows us to share our world view with the maximum people. We tend to respect reality while adding our own point of view on things.

Could you say a few words about the photos you’ve taken with our new LomoChrome Metropolis ?

We want to always diversify the way we take pictures. Even if we are specialized in travel, landscape, and nature photography, we don't want to put boundaries to our creation, we like to experiment with new things. That's why we decided to explore the portrait universe with our personal touch.

For this test, we shot the beautiful Maéva. It was the first time we met, so we can say that the result of this photo-shoot is very experimental! We are looking for taking new photos now that we've met a good number of models to easily create our next photographic stories.

Let's get technical! When you tested our new film, which camera, and lens did you use? Did you use strobes or available light?

We used our Canon A1, it's for us the best fit to obtain the results we want in analogue photography. It's a bit more "upscale" than the other analogue cameras we have. We did not use any filters as we wanted to see how the LomoChrome Metropolis looked in natural lights, without artifice.

What are your thoughts about the LomoChrome Metropolis film?

It's a very surprising film. We loved the different subtleties of the film rendering. We navigate between faded shades, with some tints of green and sometimes of amber. It depends on how you scan and post-process. For some shots, we chose to remove a bit of green in order to get more "natural" colors.

For which situations would you recommend the LomoChrome Metropolis?

We think it can be used both in natural light and artificial light. However, we should keep in mind that some green can appear in the tints. It's a detail but it should not be neglected especially for taking portraits. The film should be interesting when used with colored artificial lights in order to create an unconventional and dreamy universe. We'd also like to use this film for street photography, with it's "faded" look it could match this photography style.

Some futures projects you'd like to talk about?

With the actual health crisis, it's quite difficult to make projects. For traveling and creation, we think that there will be a before and after Covid-19. Everyone has to decide which route they want to take. On our side, we want to focus on projects dear to our hearts or to focus even more on the creative part of our jobs. We also have the idea to start offering workshops in photography and video, we just have to see how we could put that in place! One thing is certain, our "to-do list" never shortens.
