Moskva-2 + 35 mm

Moscow-2: the Soviet Rangefinder camera. It was made since 1947 for 1956 by Krasnogorsky factory in Krasnogorsk city in Moscow region. In total 197640 pieces were produced.

The size of shot is 6×9 cm, it turns out 8 shots on 120-type film. The size of shot on 135-type film is 3,5х9 cm, it turns out 11 shots.

“Industar-23” lens , focal length is 110 mm, relative aperture is 1:4,5, corner of field of vision is 52 °. Value of the Diaphragm is from 4,5 to 32. Enlightenment is single-layered. The lens is mounted in the central shutter “Moment-1”. The expoure range of the shutter is from 1sec. to 1/250sec and “B” (manual).

The view-finder is collapsible optical, opens automatically with opening of forward cover, can be closed manually. The minimum distance of sharpness prompting — 1,5 m. the Range finder isn’t combined with the view-finder.

Shutter platoon — independent of film rewind. The mechanism of protection against repeated exhibiting of one shot is provided: after shutter has been fired of descent, the trigger button is blocked until flywheel of film rewind won’t turn anymore certain corner. At the same time the shutter can be lowered not by the button on the chamber case, but by the lever on shutter, and thus it helps to receive multi exposures.

I decided to make an experiment and instead of wide film type 120, have inserted into the device usual Kodak Gold 100 35 mm. The result is visible on photos. In my opinion interesting pictures remind photos I received with camera “Horizon” but without prospect distortion.

Great review. I found one of these in a box at a local auction. It is in great condition and have my first test film in it now.
