Estelle Mithra Experiments With Lomography Redscale 35 MM

Estelle Mithra is a young photographer who enjoys making portraits and street photography. She tested the Lomography Redscale XR 50-200 35 mm and loved the warm shades it produced. The French photographer experimented with the extended ISO range of the film to vary the tonalities of her pictures, and the results are amazing. She shares more about it in her interview.

Hello Estelle, what have you been up to lately?

Hello, it's going great! Our project with Yannick (feeltheclick) has seen the light of the day, on 24poses.co, where we sell second hand film cameras. The first drop was a success, and the feedback was positive so we are currently preparing for a second drop of cameras.

What did you think of the Lomography Redscale

The Redscale is very interesting, the fact that we can change the rendering with the ISO gives a lot of artistic possibilities. The results I obtained were interesting, but I think I will make other tests to fully understand its potential.

How did you experiment with the ISO of the film?

I first made portraits at 200 ISO with an Olympus OM 10 + 50mm, during golden hour. The orange shades have, in some photos, accentuated the emotions that emerge from them. Then I used my Mamiya AF 135 at 50 ISO for street photos. I thought they would be less interesting than the protraits, but on the contrary I like the results a lot, it transports us into another world. In my opinion, it works very well with life scenes where the human is the main subject.
